Purple™ Releases Updated Purple VRS for Android™
Rocklin, CA (PRWEB) November 16, 2011
Purple Communications™, Inc., a leading provider of innovative communications for people who are deaf, hard of hearing or speech-disabled, announced today the release of the updated and enhanced Purple Video Relay Service (VRS*)™ for Android app.
“As the Android smartphone becomes more and more popular with our customers, as well as offers more models, we wanted to concentrate on expanding the already expansive choices our customers have with Purple,” said Vice President of Technical Program Management Mark Stern. “With the updated Purple VRS for Android app, we added three additional Android devices, as well as several new features.”
With the constant innovations in communications technology, Purple continues to be a leader in providing apps for smartphones traditionally used by hearing individuals. In addition to its new features, like the ability to update or change E911 information within the app, Purple VRS for Android now supports HTC™ Sensation, EVO™ 3D and the Samsung Galaxy Tab™ 10.1.
“I choose Purple VRS for my business,” said Linda Cummings, owner of Pre-paid Legal Services. “I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab – it’s so light and easy to carry – I can hold it in my hand to make a call.”
Stern believes the more choices customers have, the faster equal communications access will come to pass. “It’s an exciting and very promising time in history to live as a deaf individual in the United States,” explained Stern. “I’m very proud to be a part of the Purple development team where we believe anything is possible, including equal communications access through innovative technologies. This is why we’re all here – to make sure that becomes a reality.”

Supports HTC™ Sensation, EVO™ 3D and the Samsung Galaxy Tab™ 10.1, along with other popular Android devices (for a full list of supported devices, go to Purple VRS for Android)
